We left the rv dealership rv park in Junction City on Friday June 24 & had a pleasant drive to Pacific City Thousand Trails. Our new TomTom GPS gave us the quickest route between the 2 parks. We like to stay off the Interstate system if we can & our route was on State Highways & secondary roads. Over the Coast Range we were on a rural highway that took us across several one lane bridges over the Little Nestucca River. Very picturesque but of course we did not stop to take pictures. At first I was a little concerned that the GPS would take us on a road unsuitable for the trailer but we soon met a logging truck going the other way. I figured that if he could get through we could.
On Sunday, June 26 we went to the Kite Festival at the D River State Park in Lincoln City. We had a very nice time & enjoyed the kite flying. I purchased a new Revolution kite which is a 4 line kite.
On Monday, June 27 we went out to do some geocaching & because we were near the beach I took the new kite out for a spin. Light winds but I had a nice time seeing what the kite will do & learning how to handle it.
Barbara & Benji had a great walk & run on the beach.
Tomorrow, June 28 we go to the Seaside Thousand Trails for a 2 week stay. We plan on stopping at the Tillamook Cheese factory on the way.

We left Cave Junction yesterday & came to Junction City, OR to an rv dealership. We are looking at 5th wheel trailers to upgrade from our current travel trailer to get more storage & better living space for our walkabout comfort.
They can order from several different manufacturers.
I also have to start looking for a new truck (dang it, a new one ton dually deisel will be hard to take).
Tomorrow we will go to Pacific City Thousand Trails on the Oregon coast.
They have a very nice indoor pool. We look forward to getting in some swimming during the "adult hours".
We will let you know when we have placed the order for our new 5th wheel.

On the afternoon of June 16 we went to Medford to be near the hospital where Barbara's Mother was to have a stent inserted into an artery. She went in on June 17 & was out of the operation by 10 am. Everything went very well & she remained in the hospital overnight for observation. She was able to come home to Cave Junction on June 18.
We will stay here a few more days to help out where we can then we will head for the Thousand Trails at Seaside to meet Kathy & Dennis, our daughter & son-in-law, for 4th of July. It will also be a celebration of Dennis' retirement.

Then we brought our travel trailer home & loaded it with the items we were going to take as well as the pickup & car. We decided to keep the car for a few months to see if it is beneficial to us.
Escrow was scheduled to close on June 10.
At 11:40 am, after loading the last things out of the house & Barbara doing one last vacumning & mopping, we locked the door for the last time & headed out on our "walkabout".
At 12:45 I got a call from our realtor who told me that it was "official" that escrow was closed & the deed had been recorded.
Our first night destination was Lake Shastina near Weed, CA. We arrived there with no problems & found a nice campsite overlooking the lake, which was full. We stayed Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. It was very relaxing after our last month of activity. Also, we were coming to grips with being "FULLTIMERS".

We had a hectic couple of weeks with moving sales (we sold the washing machine while it still had wet clothes in it, the people buying it had to go home to get a dolly to move it & the dryer so Barb threw the damp things into the dryer but the buyers got back before they were dry, after the sale that day our neighbor let Barb finish drying the clothes at his house), address changes, & Barbara had to go to southern Oregon to be with her Mother when she went into the hospital for an angiogram.
Barbara's Mom will have a stent put in on June 17 to clear blockage in one artery.
We sold most of our furniture & stuff we had accumulated over the years. Kathy (our daughter) & Dennis came down & hauled some furniture home with them. Mike (our son) bought several items & really helped sell several pieces of furniture to his friends & acquaintances. Then he came over & delivered some of the things as well. What was left went to the Salvation Army or onto the pile in the street for the neighborhood cleanup.

We had decided that we would like to pursue the fulltime rv life style while we were in Verde Valley, AZ this past February & March 2011.
When we got home to Citrus Heights, CA in April we talked to a local realtor about the possibility of selling our house. He felt that our house would sell at a price to get us enough to have moneys toward a new truck & 5th wheel trailer that we have been looking at.
On May 2nd we put the house on the market, on May 4th we had our first prospective buyers. On May 6th we had agreed on a full price offer & escrow had been opened.
The buyer wanted escrow to close at the end of May, but we said we could not close before June 10 because our granddaughter Simone was graduating from high school June 6 & granddaughter Lindsey was having a ceremony passing from elementary school to middle school on June 9.
